The above verse from the Holy Qur’an lays out the framework for the basis and objectives of marriage in Islam. In the ultimate Wisdom of Allah we are told that both partners, man and woman, are created from the same source and that they should dwell in peace and tranquillity and help each other to attain Taqwa (God-consciousness).
However, the problem we face in many third world countries is that there are thousands of young brothers and sisters who are of marriageable age, but cannot get married due to lack of financial and social support. This is especially the case with thousands of young sisters in improvised household and communities in poor countries. The young women have less opportunity to work and support their families and the families feel burdened to find a suitable match to meet the financial needs to perform necessary marriages. The unfortunate thing is, if we cannot provide the halal means for natural human needs to be fulfilled then this may open doors to many social evils.
Our aim is to make a model family in the community, based on the Prophetic principles and therefore the institution of marriage plays central role to this – So please help us to help our brothers and sisters in improvised communities to make this sacred union of man and wife as shown by the Prophetic examples.
