The final messenger of Allah, Prophet Muhammad (peace & blessings be upon him) said, “Ask Allah (subhanawa ta’la) for forgiveness and health, for after being granted certainty, one is given nothing better than health.” (Tirmidhi)
Health is indeed a favour that we take for granted. We should express gratitude to Allah for bestowing us with health, and we should try up most to look after it. Allah has entrusted us with our bodies for a predestined period of time. He will hold us to account on how we looked after and use our bodies and good health. At the same time we must consider others about their wellbeing too.
Having a good health should be treated as one of the biggest priorities for the world’s poor. The sad reality, however, is that affordable and effective health care is non-existent in many parts of the world. Poor health holds communities back and traps them in the cycle of poverty. This means illnesses are prolonged, infections are not contained and many preventable diseases become a cause of long-term suffering. Moreover, many terminally diseases such as cancer, tumour, etc. have become life threatening too.
In many parts of the world, there are very little resources available to help pregnant women in poor communities as many cannot afford to go to clinic and in many cases result in death. The child mortality in those communities are very high and those that do survive are very malnourished too.
Please help to donate to Dabbagh Welfare Trust to provide effective health care needs, and establish medical institutions to help many thousands who are deprived of many life-saving treatments, which are urgently needed.
